How to Recover Data from Water Damaged iPhone

It was such a bad luck if you dropped your treasured iPhone in water unintentionally. Although you tried many methods to rescue your iPhone, it was still completely dead and beyond repair. Connect your iPhone to the computer and scan

I. For iPhone 5/4S users (iPhone 4/3GS user can skip this to next)
There is only a "Start Scan" button on the main window. After connecting your iPhone, you only need to click the "Start Scan" button to scan your iPhone. You'll see this scanning window immediately after clicking the "Start Scan" button.

II. For iPhone 4/3GS, iPad 1 & iPod touch 4 user
A. Connect your device to the computer with a digital cable and run the program, then you'll see the window below after connecting your device. You need to download a plug-in by clicking the "Download" button.

B. Enter DFU mode to scan your device
After downloading the plug-in, you need to get into thed device's scanning mode before scanning. You can follow the steps below:
1) Hold your iPhone and click the "Start" button.
2) Pressing the "Power" and "Home" buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds.
3) After 10 seconds, release the "Power" button, but keep holding "Home" for another 15 seconds.

How to dry out water damaged iPhone/iPad/iPod?

1) Remove it from the water immediately.

4) Put iPhone/iPad/iPod in a bunch of silica packets, or in the bowl of uncooked rice and cover it up.
5) Leave the device in the rice for at least 24 hours and preferably 48 hours.
Hopefully, after 24 - 48 hours iPhone/iPad/iPod will have dried out, the logic board wasn’t damaged, and hopefully you can turn it on and the device will work. If not, your next option is to see if it can be repaired without much cost.
